The Christmas market
The Christmas market at Rudolfplatz transports visitors to a St. Nicholas Village with cozy half-timbered houses.
The market is characterized by its family-friendliness.
The festively decorated Santa Claus Village, set against the backdrop of the 13th-century Hahnentorburg, invites you to a contemplative stroll.Illuminated half-timbered houses and thousands upon thousands of LED lights on the houses and in the treetops create a cozy atmosphere.
Stage program
A stage is set aside for performances by artists and musicians. Santa Claus visits daily between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. As dusk falls—approximately between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.—Santa Claus roams the village streets.
In the heated Santa Claus House, the market's young visitors are the focus. Qualified supervisors assist the children with crafts, painting, and cutting.
Radio Köln
Radio Köln's glass studio in the Christmas market at Rudolfplatz has long been a true highlight of Cologne's pre-Christmas season.
Situated amidst the festive bustle of the Hahnentorburg gate, the studio offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of broadcasting. Behind the panoramic windows, visitors can watch the presenters at work live, while outside the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds fills the air.
Radio Köln broadcasts live from our glass studio every Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
